Chicken Ranch Racing: Top 10 at Primm 2026
April 14, 2026
April 10–12, 2026 | Primm, Nevada
The desert had something to say at Primm, and Chicken Ranch Racing showed up to answer.
The Lone Kid Racing Battle at Primm is one of the most competitive stops on the SNORE calendar. As the first two-day event of the 2026 season, it threw speed, strategy, and endurance at a stacked 23-car field. Chicken Ranch Racing came away with a hard-earned Top 10 and a face full of birthday cake. More on that in a minute.
Thursday: Tech and Ready
The team rolled into Primm on Thursday evening to clear registration and technical inspection. No drama. SNORE debuted their new live timing system this weekend, letting fans track every heat and lap in real time. The desert just got a little more transparent.
Friday: Qualifying in a Stacked Field
Friday opened with a 7:00 AM drivers meeting for qualifying classes. With 23 cars entered, the competition was as thick as the desert dust.
John Bohls and co-driver Vanessa MacCracken put together a solid qualifying run and locked in 16th on the starting grid for Saturday. The afternoon brought contingency, where the team connected with fans and sponsors at the Chicken Ranch Racing booth, proudly representing The World Famous Chicken Ranch Brothel.
Saturday: Moving Up
The green flag dropped at 11:00 AM. Starting 16th, John Bohls and co-driver Mauro Diaz Jr. went to work on the rugged Nevada terrain. Five demanding laps later, they had climbed to 11th. The foundation for Sunday was set.
Saturday Night: Birthday Cake
After the race, the real event started.
John Bohls was celebrating a milestone birthday. A surprise cake made the trip from Pahrump. Someone told John to lean in for a closer look. He came up face-first in frosting, covered in icing, and laughing harder than anyone.
Off-road racing is about competition. It’s also about this.
Sunday: The Charge
Sunday was one last shot at the leaderboard.
Vanessa MacCracken was back in the navigator seat. John started 11th. Early setbacks pushed them back to 14th. They didn’t quit.
Chicken Ranch Racing fought back through the field and crossed the finish line in 9th place overall. Against a 23-car field in SNORE’s most competitive event of the young season, that’s a result worth celebrating.
Thank You
To every fan, crew member, and friend who celebrated John’s birthday and cheered the team through the weekend. You made it memorable.
And to The World Famous Chicken Ranch Brothel, thank you for the continued partnership and belief in this program.
The 2026 season is just getting started. If Primm is any indication, the desert hasn’t seen the last of us.
See you at the next race.
